What should my child wear? What do I bring to gym?Shorts, T-shirts, any sport gear and bare feet are best for learning gymnastics. No dresses, skirts, baggy clothes or school uniforms please. Long hair must be tied up. Drink: just water please, no fizzy drinks or any other beverages. Food: NO FOOD IN THE GYM.

Do I participate in class? If your child is enrolled in Crocodiles Advanced or in Reptiles class then you do not participate in class. If your child is enrolled in Crocodiles Basic class, then your participation is compulsory. We require that you are fully focused and attentive to your child. Each child is different and yet they all need to fit into the same program. Your child responds to you and is used to your way of communication. For this reason, the teacher's role is to be a facilitator and your role is to be a guide and to provide help and support to your child. Children learn trough and from their parents, so in order to achieve the best learning outcome and to progress, your full involvement in class is essential.
-
When do we arrive to class? We would appreciate if you arrived 5-10 minutes early. Please plan for the traffic delays. We start sharp on time and any lateness to class would distract the other's participants and would reduce our effective learning time.
-
Are there any safety issues that I should be aware of?Safety of your child is essential. Please NO playing or using the equipment before or after the class. Please supervise your children at all times at the car park, do not let them walk on their own.

My child is having difficulties with settling down and with following instuctions. What should I do?Pre-school children need time to accomodate. The first couple of weeks could be quite challenging and especially the first class. Please don't be discouraged if your child finds it hard to participate. PLease understand that this is just an initial phase and that they need time to get familiar with the teacher, routines, equipment, etc. In our experience many kids struggle at the beginning, but with the parents support they became confident participants. If your child misbehaves, then please deal with it promptly as it is disruptive to other children's learning. Please take your child to the office or outside and give them some time-out until they calm down.

Some useful tipsPlease prepare your child for the lesson,Ie: no crying, listening to instructions, follow the parent, etc. Please make sure your child goes to toilet before the lesson. Please focus on your child and avoid chatting with other parents. Please no video recordingor photo taking. Even if your goal is to take your own's child photo, you may unintentionally capture the image of another child. As parents do not have consent from other's parents to share their child image, we ask that no picture or video is taken inside the facility. In some exeptional cases photo taking is allowed with the coach's permition.

Can I observe the class?Parents/guardians are welcome to watch in the parent viewing mezzanine, however, we expect that all parents and guardians will not distract their child. The most common distractions include: parents communicating to their kids and "coaching", bringing water, chatting loud enough to distract the coaches, being so close that their children start looking at them and not paying attention to their coach, gesturing to the child to pay attention, stepping in to help, making noise, waving, or setting off a flash. For our little crocodiles, an audience is a big distraction. If they are constantly looking over to see if mom or dad are watching, instead of focusing on what the instructor is saying or what skills they are doing, you may want to consider using class time to run an errand or two. Well-meaning parents can quickly become a distraction for the coach as well. It is imperative that the coaching be left to the coaches. A coach-gymnast is the best learning environment.
